By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Fingernails still intact!

but I'm not sure how, exactly!

The Cardinals will play three games at Coors Field, beginning tonight. They did not play yesterday, and the Cubs won in San Francisco, so the Cards "magic number" remains at one. Most stadium staff were quite hopeful that the Cards could clinch their division before they showed up here.

And of course, we have still not clinched the NL wild card spot. Tentative schedules have been released, in order to give staff an idea of what the early weeks of October might be like. In a best of five series, without home field advantage, the first Coors Field game is likely to be on Saturday Oct 10, with a potential game the next day.

My last remaining wisdom tooth needs to come out. Originally the dentist proposed Friday October 9. I don't think so! I really, really want to be present for any post season games the Rockies play. So we'll take care of the tooth earlier in the week, so I can be there, fully able to talk on the phone!

It will be an interesting evening tonight. I'll try to share my reactions after the game.

Stay tuned!
