Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Tweeting

When I first opened my Twitter account, my regular reader Eric suggested that I tweet from Coors Field. Good idea, but the stadium wireless is only available through a phone connection, and for several reasons I don't have a smart phone. Probably won't get one, either, at least for awhile.

So, tweeting as ball games progressed was not impossible with my plain old ordinary cell phone, but somewhat cumbersome.

The concept proposed at the writing classes is to use Twitter as a way of creating contacts with others who might be interested in my writing. To be honest it sounds, as I listen to them describe the whole thing, as rather cumbersome. But I'm going to give it a try. By the first week of April I may have figured out ways to post brief reactions to various tidbits from the ballpark.

I really hope I won't sound like an idiot. And I certainly hope all of you will call me on it if I begin to sound like Sarah Palin. I don't even know if she has a Twitter account. If she does, I'm certain she assigns the job of tweeting to a staff person. A luxury I don't have, so whatever shows up on my Twitter feed will be my words only.
