Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

A response from the TSA

I got this message about a week ago: "Thank you for your e-mail of January 9, 2014, inquiring about the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) TSA PreCheck screening procedures. You specifically inquired as to why TSA Pre Check passengers are directed to the walk-through metal detector for screening rather than to the Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) scanner.

TSA PreCheck passengers are not required to divest items such as belts, light jackets, scarfs, etc. Those items cause AIT anomalies that require a pat-down screening to resolve any affected areas. TSA is looking into ways to incorporate the advanced AIT equipment into TSA PreCheck lanes. Until then, all passengers, including TSA PreCheck passengers, have the option of requesting AIT screening."

The email goes on - "thank you for your inquiry, blah, blah, blah" So the bottom line, for me at least, is that the only benefit I have is the shorter wait time. It's certainly better than no advantage at all, but not really that big of a deal.
