2003-03-24 6:06 PM A Promising Start for the Workweek Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
I've already checked all the papers from the multiple choice exam that I did this morning, which is a big turnaround for that one month before I was able to return their last exam. Part of the consequence of that rush last time: several students returned their papers to recompute their scores. Consequence of the exam this morning: a lot of students, even those who had high scores in the first exam, had lower scores here. The reaction so far has been that the questions were a little confusing. Personally I think there may have been too many topics, despite the fact that I took most of the questions from the recitation and what I considered the easier parts of each topic. I still have four unplanned class hours before the end of the term, so I don't know what I'll do in the meantime, especially in terms of pulling up their grades. I went to sleep at 2pm after recording their scores, and got woken up by my celphone at 330pm by my coteacher who is supposed to substitute for the guy who has been absent since last week. He said I could just give them a quiz, which was confirmed by the students. They said it was now problem-solving, having finished the chapter. They also had to lend me a textbook because I brought the wrong one to the class. I gave them three problems to solve, but they were only able to solve two before the next class started to arrive in the room. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
