2003-03-29 2:58 PM Taking Care of Some Unfinished Stories Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
Saturday in school. Got here at around 10am, then slept for two hours after checking my e-mail. I still have a slight stiff neck lying down across three ergonomic chairs. At least now I have the time to catch up on one of the backlog topics, getting stuffed last Wednesday. First of all, it was the Faculty Association General Assembly, which had it’s own free lunch. Not really free, I paid for it when I paid the yearly association dues. Second, it was Business Management Week, and since some of my Planetary Physics students are Business Management students and BM Society officers, they invited me to their open lunch for everyone at the plaza. So, even though I already had one large Styrofoam container of food, I went to their table and filled up a smaller styro tray with donuts, rice and pancit. I even got a coupon for 10% discount at Gerry’s Grill Jupiter Street that is valid until blank. Yes, the validity date is blank. There was also a Nescafe booth giving away free coffee, which was really from Wednesday until Friday. I got at least two cups a day there for those three days. Going back to the department very laden, I still had the thesis proposal defense to go to. Despite having made it clear to the students that they are not obliged to provide food during the proposal defense (even the final defense, some teachers say, because it feels too much like a bribe) the students still brought sandwiches and soft drinks in can. So, that’s the reason I felt very stuffed last Wednesday. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
