Mood: Relieved That My Last Exam is Over Read/Post Comments (0) |
2003-04-10 10:00 PM It's All Grade Computations From Here Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
This morning again I waited for Roomie to get ready to go out. His shift is in the evening, and my only proctoring for the day is in the early afternoon, so we arrive at the school across the street at around 11am. We play a round of Landlord with some of the guys there, then I head over to school. There was some mix-up with the rooms. From the three classes of Astronomy, the ones who did not reach the minimum to opt not to take the finals could fill less than two classrooms. Problem was, the students from the two largest classes were all in one room, while the ones from the smallest class were in another. I went to the room with both classes and told the ones from the other class to transfer to the other room, making both rooms more or less equal in capacity. Still, there were enough of them that I could tell them to sit one seat apart. In the middle of the exam, I receive a text from the proctor of the other class asking if I will allow calculators in the test. This is because there is a part of the exam that asks them to determine if a given year is a leap year or not. I reply no. Come on, it's just dividing by four, and these are Business and Economics majors. If they foul that up, they don't deserve to be in that college. But it seems some students in that exam room have already used calculators, so the proctor allowed it. But I will reprimand those students when I give their course cards. The students in my room had to compute than manually, even mentally. I also received today the first batch of video 8 tapes of oral reports. I will bring them home to view them, and hopefully will have grades for them tomorrow. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
