Not So Unforeseen Consequences of Being Absent From Class Too Often

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

It’s bad enough that I started the student friendly version of this online journal on a negative note for this New Year – at least in the last part. Unfortunately, if I am to account for the leadership institute some of the college students attended before Christmas with any semblance of truth, I will be disclosing more downbeat revelations than positive ones.

I promised one of the students attending with me though, who also has a penchant for writing and in fact has published and released two different newsletters in school just last year alone that are not in the official one, that I will be detailing everything about our experience in the electronic chronicle he can read, so these will be unfolded in the student version.

Here I just want to give a fair warning as to that event, and that in no way does it reflect that all the posts for this new year will be in that disapproving tone.

Now I will instead concentrate on some transition topics from the last term to the new one.

Two students failed under me in Graphics Two: Manual Drafting. Their final percentages were forty-nine and fifty two, where the passing is sixty. In fact, the officer in charge of the school of engineering before the new director arrived wanted the cut off to be seventy for any three hour once a week subject.

Their scores in the drawing plates were low, obviously not much effort being put in them to make them neat and clean like their classmates.

During the solid figure finals, one of them suspiciously asked to leave the room to go to the rest room in the middle of the exam, and the other was very talkative throughout, trying to show that he knew enough about what they were doing to pass, even though he was at the same time giving too many hints to their classmates who may have no idea how to proceed, or were planning to go about it in a different, but also correct, way.

The clinching fact was that they also incurred three absences apiece, which is more than what is allowed, and thus got zero for the plates on those days as well. Double dead, so to speak.

Session 913 also had excessive absences in my subject. Class dismissed.
