More Added Subjects At the Students' Request

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Other changes to the offerings for the first term: the engineering students' course of Advanced Computing will not be offered anymore. It used to be one of their professional electives after taking Computer Programming 1 and 2, but for the last two years, it has not focused on the basics of graphics as was supposed to be the case. In fact, even though it was also offered as such four years ago, none of the engineering students have ever shown a penchant for using the graphics they have learned there in any of their other subjects or activities.

There is still no word though as to what it will be replaced by. But after all, as it stands, the engineering students already have three other subjects dealing with computer graphics, which may be more than enough.

Some of the upperclassmen who have not yet taken up the subject because of their failures in the earlier programming now have no idea what to take, especially those who may not reach the minimum fifteen units otherwise.

Next, there might also be two other subjects that will be offered for the engineering irregulars with senior ID numbers, but are technically juniors.

This is as a result of their petition letter for the dean to open the subjects, despite the fact that they wrote the letter and passed it after the deadline for petitioning.

I thought at first that the dean will not allow any of the subjects they requested, since they already have eight units being given to them non-regular.

But I guess the fact that they all agreed in their letter to enroll in those subjects, as well as that it is extra immediate income for the school, are pluses.

The problem is, that as of now, none of those students have showed up for adjustment academic advising, so they have no enrollees in those subjects yet.

I don't know when the cut off will be that the registrar's office and the dean will set, but if there are no enrollees in those subjects at a certain time, it will have to be dissolved, and the dean will have to change the load of the engineering faculty again, which will definitely bias her against allowing the irregular students' late requests next time.

Session 1611 should not take irregular subjects as a given that could be enrolled late, just because there is no chance it will be closed and full. Class dismissed.
