Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. When I woke up this morning there were two messages in my mobile phone from a student who hinted that they may have to revise their project proposal topic in Energy Conversion Lab. I didn't reply. I'm still of the old school of thought that if a student wants to consult with something, then they schedule an appointment which may be done through text. But the consultation itself should not be conducted over the phone. What's strange is that I believe it doesn't work both ways; that a teacher can contact a student anytime of night about bringing a requirement to school the next day or setting an appointment. @@ During our robotics competition earlier, two high school teachers dropped by with three female students of theirs asking if the students could look around the classroom for a bit. Apparently there was an incidence of vandalism in the girls' restroom on the floor below us, and according to the three witnesses, it was someone in civilian clothes (in other words, not in uniform). So they were looking for suspects that could be identified. Now, from what one of the students near the door overheard afterwards, the high schoolers said it could be the girl in blue. But there were three girls in blue in the classroom at that time, so I'm not sure who they were talking about, and they left immediately afterwards. So if there's going to be any disciplinary action connected with the incident, I guess I'll hear about it from a different quarter later. @@ Lastly, one of our two college graduates who are now working for the school has been prevented from sitting in on my robotics class. This is because her immediate superior believes that she doesn't have enough time to finish her programming duties, so she has to cut down on time for something else. Since my class appears to be the least significant out of all the classes she is sitting in, that was the one that the dean chose. Session 1759 doesn't see all the factors going into the relation of work input and output. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
