Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Thanks to Maggie for the comment yesterday. Now the pressure is on. :) Apparently, some of the concerns the students have been voicing out have made it to the ears of the people in administration. First was the constant complaint of why the glass doors from the cafeteria to the west canopy to the circumferential road are always locked, when it's the easiest way for students to get in after being dropped off, without having to climb up to the central lobby or go all the way to the other side, on the east canopy. It turns out not to be an edict by the high school to prevent their students from leaving in the middle of the day. Nor was it a deterrent against the flies, which still had several other open doors and windows to use for their access. The suspicion was that it was to prevent people who didn't like the offerings from walking out and into the new cafeteria in the Integrated School building, but - as expected - the concessionaire won't admit to that. So it's now open. Second is the poor quality of the computer lab in the fourth floor central area. Since the technician moved to the room next door, there have been reports (from the students themselves) of games being installed in the computers, and students using them for that when the students who need to use it for school work have to huddle over one terminal. Besides that, the students have discovered proxy servers for being able to get into their favorite online video or social network time wasters. Lastly, the sanitation was a problem, with students just leaving their drink bottles and food wrappers there when they go. Not anymore: all the games installed have been erased, and all the proxies have been blocked along with the friend meister and your tube. I don't know about the garbage problem though, if the maintenance personnel were asked to pass by the place more often, or if there are now more trash cans in the room, or someone to guard the room. Session 1767 goes to school to play computer games. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
