Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Yesterday was the meeting where the college faculty were supposed to discuss with the brother president about finding a replacement dean. The college secretary wasn't present though, and neither was the dean or the associate dean, but no one went on a boycott. On a side note, slacker co-teacher was up to his old tricks, showing up in the middle of the prayer and not silently walking to his seat. I bet he was also the one who asked someone else to remind the president about finalizing the newest draft of the faculty manual, where all of his benefits will get concretized. Anyway, the teachers were in a sombre mood during the meeting, even the first part when the president talked about the rationale behind the brothers' decision to house the most controversial man of the hour in presidential exposes. At least the brother acknowledged that even in the letter the dean drafted to him, that no reason was given for the non-renewal of contract. He also admitted that if the reason was because none of his plans were coming to fruition, then he is grateful for the silence, because it wouldn't do for the outgoing administrator to poison the minds of the staying faculty against the remaining bosses. Despite the dean's insistence that it is not for greener pastures, the brother said that positions in the nearby industrial zone are open to him, especially since he is part of the Rotary Club sector where the heads of those companies also are. And, now going to the topic of what I wrote in the student accessible version today, I heard a rumor (Bananaramas in my head now) that he is being considered as vice president for academics or research in the main campus after the current chancellor is retiring at the end of the schoolyear in an upwardly mobile shuffle, which may have good and bad implications for me and my being of those two worlds. Session 2035 could still get out of the whole non-rat non-race. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
