Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Engineering Week has started. For once, because of the holiday yesterday, I was able to attend the opening ceremonies - at least most of the welcoming speech of the director, since I don't have a non-engineering class scheduled at the time, which was the case last year. Strangely enough, on a side note, I have most of the same students now in the Monday class at 8am, although it's now Computer Systems Organization instead of general science requirement mechanics. So it's really thankful that yesterday was declared to have no classes. Anyway, it was also the first time that I had the batch shirt at the start instead of given after the week was over, which was what happened last year. So now I was able to attend the opening ceremonies and fit in for the pictures taken at the time. I am actually at the open lab again at the time, although there is a seminar right now in the auditorium. And the organizer, the assembly chair, said that he will inform and invite the Integrated School students who attended there, as well as their teachers. There are only three new exhibits (which were from my Energy Conversion lab during the first term) and half of one of the labs have to be converted for the robot competition construction Friday. Same is true with the motorized catapult contest on Thursday. I just hope the dean will be able to visit us during this time - before he leaves. On a side note, slacker co-teacher wasn't in the opening ceremonies again, despite the director's email about it - maybe in complete defiance. And he wasn't in the celebratory shirt either, despite getting his last week. Well, I'll be updating if he shows up for the rest of the activities. And there's one major bit of news that I found out about over the weekend, also on engineering students, that I'll write about in a subsequent entry. Session 2043 really doesn't care about the students. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
