Mood: And Bleeding From Misuse of It Read/Post Comments (0) |
2008-02-29 9:15 AM Personal: Cutting Open Socialization Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Mentioning shared experiences in the end of the post for the student accessible version today reminded me of something I wanted to post since last night - in fact, the start of the week. Besides actually going out and doing something with friends, for me the best shared experiences is reading books - which, strangely enough, people can't do simultaneously unless they both buy a copy of the same book - and meaningful interaction on the net, which - gasp! - exists despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. What makes it more interesting is that both do not require people to be actually face to face. Well, not at first for the first one, but they probably do have to meet to talk about what they've read. Or they could do it online, then it would be another rare meaningful chat. For the second one, I do not include mobile phone text message exchanges merely because the atmosphere between being distracted by a text in the middle of doing something else, or being distracted by a looming truck while in the middle of reading a text or constructing a reply ruins the moment. Being in the serenity in front of a computer screen is different, yet still being able to communicate with friends far away, and not necessarily in real time too. It could just be the mood of being ready to receive a reply from someone in an online journal comment or in email when the inbox is opened. Merely talking to close friends about what's been going on in their lives is also considered a great shared experience, in that bonding takes place, but not necessarily in the category of "we enjoyed doing something together". So yeah, in effect what I'm saying is that I'd like to talk more to my friends about the books we've read or our personal lives. Session 2049 has had enough of popular topics in school. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
