Mood: Almost Dreading It Read/Post Comments (0) |

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Finally one of my co-teachers has spoken up about a previously undetected (by the administrators) problem with his being required to take up masters' classes. He is enrolled in one of the recommended campuses, which is three hours away. Besides that, his classes are from 6-9pm, which means he has to have finished with his lectures by 3pm to make it exactly on time (not even giving any margin for any traffic along the stretch of 50+ kilometers). It also takes him four hours to go home. This is because his residence is already at least two hours in the opposite direction from our school. And worse, he has an 8am lecture the next day. Just the pure human need for rest has caused him to get a failing grade in his classes last term. And thankfully the administrators in reviewing his case up for renewal, did not take that against him. But they are considering taking him up on his offer to be a full-time graduate student, with classes to be taught only assigned on Fridays and/or Saturdays to keep from having a break in service. With this he promises to be finished in three terms and one summer. I was senior faculty representative for three of my co-teachers, after which I was told nonchalantly that one of the next files to be discussed was mine (where of course I could not be present). And guess who is senior faculty representative in my stead? None other than slacker co-teacher, who, in the only other time he represented, he used it to forward his own agenda against the current school director who keeps on foiling his plans. Not that I believe he thinks I'm a threat, but it won't be a purely on-topic discussion if he asks his points about the new dean appointment. Session 2075 knows not when not to bend the bosses' ears. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
