2008-06-18 3:11 PM P/E/A: It Takes People of Different Viewpoints to Run A School Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. One of my co-teachers told me the story about how some of the Integrated School teachers from last year were supposed to have been terminated already last April, but one of them had appealed directly to the brother president, who sent back the list given to him by the IS principal with notes about who would be reconsidered, despite the reasons already stated. It’s a president’s prerogative after all, as long as time proves it isn’t arbitrary. Besides, history might be showing that in this case, it has been the principal who has been targeting disliked teachers on trumped-up charges. @@ The discipline officer has approached me requesting for a small digital camera to help him build cases against students caught violating school rules. With his camera phone he has been effective so far (without going overboard – like the character Dwight in “The Office”) in collecting “evidence”. Next time he saw me he asked if I had gone to the brother president about it, and when I did, he said that the letter was supposed to come from the head of discipline and not the coordinator for student affairs, who could just note the letter. @@ According to the discipline officer, the threat of having them interviewed by the brother president has apparently been successful so far in preventing repeat offenders of the dress code from being called again. I just hope that would go for the third year and fourth year students as well. @@ One interesting result of requiring a memorandum of agreement with the application of candidates for the freshmen election is that now we have an idea about what the political party who has submitted one asks of its members. There’s confidentiality of party discussed material as well as not talking about anything election related with other parties during the campaign period. This kind of rule really could alienate a member from their old friends, if they don’t have the same political beliefs and share love for other things previously. When I talked to the previous president of the recognized student organizations about his party’s candidates’ requirements, he asked me for my mobile phone number but I didn’t give it to him since he is notorious for phone manipulations. Session 2217 has alternate views. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
