2008-07-09 9:51 AM P/E/A: This Is Only Supposed to Be Six Hours A Week Deloading! Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. All I'm going to say for today with respect to the entry in the student accessible version is please check one of the entries I had here recently that is very much related, and sets my course of action. @@ There's this new committee I'm being asked to be part of (part of the job as Office of Student Affairs Coordinator, I guess). It's the Eco Camp or One Million Trees project, which means that I'll be in the same room as that old man again - if I attend. Since they don't have an office in the campu anymore, and this is an inter-campus committee, most of the meetings are going to be outside. I told the associate dean that I have to back down from this one, although I didn't give the real reason of not wanting to see the old man. She agreed though, even before I could list down my other committees (safety, sports, staff manual, foundation day and recognition). I could say that it's gotten to the point where I don't have time for any more meetings, but that we could discuss things over e-mail in any new ad hoc committees that spring up (which explains the gratitude of the day in the other post today). It's enough for me to be in the know and to see the level of planning people are involved in, not to spearhead and take charge. And it's also not my place to question the heads of these committees (or one in particular) about the lack of action on their part, or twisting the school's values to their own ends. But I will not forget, and I hope to learn from their mistakes of omission. Session 2251 is looking at the pies, but doesn't have fingers in them. Class dismissed.
