Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Our team lost in the second basketball game of the faculty staff sports fest last Wednesday. At least it wasn’t by default anymore. Although I was surprised that even though our team was like Sunday players who weren’t really running this way and that where the ball was, that the other team was in the mode of always trying to grab the ball from us every chance they got if there was a chance that a foul might not be called, even if they just converted a basket and the ball had not been brought down to the other side of the court yet. That’s one downside to these kinds of events. Even though some might view it to be just in the spirit of friendly competition, despite the oath of sportsmanship taken at the start (or it was already forgotten), there are those who, in their own minds, are compensating for some imagined sleight and going all out to win. @@ In other news, our technician is back. According to our recent graduate, board passer and new teacher LG, he talked to the director yesterday. I guess the task of having to train someone new to handle the lab supplies and learning the ropes 4 weeks before the end of the term is more bothersome for the director than having to put up with possible bad behavior from the old technician again. Now he has the unenviable task of getting the lab back into shape after a month of letting the students have free rein of everything, and uninstalling all the games in the PCs. And, as LG said he had warned the technician when he received his letter, the director could not be blamed for keeping a close eye on him and his work now. That means any small slight could be grounds for termination, or at least requesting for a replacement and moving him to another office where he would do less harm. We’ll see what happens in the next few days. I’ll certainly be on watch with that. @@ In E-frame news, he’s only late (not absent, arriving before 8:20 am) and for once hard at work at his table on his plate, having left the room only once. Same is true with the other danger of failing student, although still talkative to his classmates. Session 2303 believes it may be a case of too little compensation too late. Class dismissed.
