Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Had my third exam in Energy Conversion class earlier. What did I do new?

There were nine sets, distributed among twenty five examinees.

Afterwards, since the approximation part of the maximum voltage across the inductor and the capacitor was the last part discussed and there were not that many questions (which to me indicates that the students were not grasping the concept) I just gave that to each set (composed of two to three students) as an assignment. Also, even though it could be done (computationally - if there is such a word, and graphically) on a spreadsheet, I told them to write it on paper.

It's part of that "learning to walk before you could run" schtick I've been drilling.

@@ On the student council officer minor disrespect issue, the Brother President in his capacity as dean has been called in.

He says he already talked to the student (that I'm surprised at finding out only now) who, suspciously, says that she does not know what she needs to apologize for, which really shows a lack of sensitivity on her part to the teacher's feelings.

Anyway, that really means that this will be shaping up to be an offense on the part of the student, which means that she could be impeached after, or whatever the correct procedure is.

That is, unless she really does let her pride get in the way, in which case, I think even the brother will get offended by her stiff neck.

And to think, I've formed all these opinions about her not having talked to her myself, and only seen her as an ineffectual host of the freshman acquaintance party, and from knowing that she was too busy not to go to their team building camp.

So maybe I shouldn't be part of the deliberating panel, although that's ultimately the brother president's call, as well as if the the faculty discipline officer should be there.

Session 2307 is thinking of preemptively being self-excused from the board of inquiry. Class dismissed.
