A/P: Lock Is A Four Letter Word

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I just discovered last week that several somewhat out of the way places in campus that guards and maintenance personnel rarely visit have been gated and locked.

Thanks for this goes out to the hormonal teenage Integrated School students, who, from what I’ve heard, have even taken advantage of the small alcove under the statue of the founder (where the waterfall can be turned on) for their alone moments.

Now even the shower rooms nearest the covered courts have been secured, and I had to learn this at the most crucial time, when I wanted to use one after one of the faculty and staff sports fest basketball games last week.

I guess that means they’ll only open them during times when there is a camp and there is a need for them.

Otherwise, we have a reverse prison situation here, where students are forced to stay in open spaces.

@@ Since everyone is in the Olympic spirit, I guess this would be a good time to announce that from the Business Office head (formerly called the Registrar) a partnership with one of the companies in the nearby industrial park has been formed for building the track oval, hopefully in time for next school year.

What I find ironic is that this used to be the company that would use our badminton courts regularly several nights during the week to the point that they could abuse the minimal fee required to use them. By this I mean paying for only one court and its electricity for an hour, then when there are no other users, they would turn on the light and play in the other courts, no payment. Either this or they would extend beyond their scheduled time.

I always believed the fact that their behavior was discovered and monitored strictly was part of the reason why they pushed to have their own covered court made, specifically at the side of their fence that is visible (and audible) from the access road turn off to the school, especially at nights.

That’s when they stopped playing here. And now we’re working together to expand the sports agenda.

I guess that means they will be allowed to use the track oval if they wish, as long as they pay for the lights when they use it, which I guess will be one payment for the whole oval.

Session 2319 are like little kids who can have their own playground made, but I guess don’t like playing there all by themselves. Class dismissed.
