2008-08-20 11:13 AM A/P: Teaching Obedience By A Whip or By Denial of Privilege? Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Minor E-Frame news: he showed up for the last meeting of the Graphics One class, and he got his plate assignment, but he didn't stay to pretend to work on it. In fact, he and his classmate in their thermodynamics class were loudly discussing their lesson in that subject (which was after my class) before completely leaving the room while leaving their things behind. Unlike a third student who was their classmate in that same class, who worked on his plate, these two didn't even bring out their drafting tools, but on top of their table they just had their notes in that subject out, beside their open bags. And for once, there was a class right after ours, so the teacher and students of that class went in after I left (since I couldn't wait for them to leave the room first anymore). So I actually saw him have to excuse himself to the teacher of the next class and get his bag, which earned him a quizzical look from the teacher, "What kind of student leaves the room during their class and leaves their bag behind?" At least that other student who he was studying with submits his plates even though late by one meeting or so. I don't see how E-frame expects to pass given he has so many unsubmitted plates. @@ Even though we are supposed to be teaching the students that they have to enlist their subjects during the prescribed period of the tenth week of the term, which is now somewhat strict because it's online and does not cater to people begging to be "accomodated", there's still the system the students have to learn about keeping their copy of the printout of the enrollment form, which was signed by the adviser. Now, I decline those who want to enlist, but can I deny those who want to have new printouts of their old enlistment made because they lost their copy, since they didn't think (just like in the last term) that it would be important? Session 2321 realizes if there's a loophole in a specific system that lazy students could exploit they will. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
