2008-09-10 10:57 AM A/P: Evaluations Lead to Possible Raises Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. The secretary of the Office of Student Affairs, according to the Human Resources Officer, is asking for a "salary adjustment". In fact, it was recommended by the predecessor of my predecessor, which makes it almost two years old. On a side note, there was a student who applied for a leave of absence in January of 2007. But he didn't finish getting the necessary signatures, and in fact when I saw his reasons for leaving, two of them were already crossed out which means that it wasn't applicable anymore. And I knew when he has started out having it signed because I had my dated signature there as science lab coordinator and from the earlier period. It's typical of the students to procrastinate like that. I bet he only went to work on it when he found out he needs to have that completed before he gets his exit transcript, which he might need for the next school if he wants some classes credited. Anyway, back to the original subject: the HR officer said the HR council had convened on the subject and said that as long as the job of coordinator is part-time (deloaded, such as what's happened with me) then of course her work will be heavy. But if the coordinator becomes a full time position, as is projected in the future, then her work load will be lighter and thus would not warrant the increase, and may require a decrease. The compromise seems to be to give her an honorarium from the Parents of College Students' Organization funds for helping them out. And actually considering how demanding the new president is right now, it may be better, and since they are also planning (as they said during their oath-taking) to have an office in campus. Session 2353 doesn't like this side of having subordinates. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
