Mood: How Do I Stop This? Read/Post Comments (0) |
2008-11-25 11:44 AM Worse and Worse, Both Cases Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Just a footnote (at the start of the post) to yesterday's report about the exam for my computer systems organization students. They took longer than usual to answer their exams, because they thought that the instruction "implement" meant to draw the logic circuit, when in fact the rest of the instructions only limited them to the Boolean function. That's why it took them so much time. It was too late when I found out about it, and some of them had already finished. I guess that means I will be giving away bonus points again, that thankfully are - and never were - coming from my own pocket, although I have to weigh it on the balance of how much I really wanted to find out they understood the other topics. @@ Another anecdote about a certain student: he's gotten to bringing a digital camera to class and taking pictures of the feet of the two girls he fancies. They have told him to erase their photos, even to the point of grabbing his bag and not letting go, and he did so reluctantly with his displeasure being very clear on his face (no hiding emotions that one). If this continues, I could tell the students to bring a formal complaint against him and have his parents over and him suspended or prevented from coming near these two girls, including not enrolling in classes where they may be attending. @@ Second short rant: our recent graduate and board exam passer the other day told me about his apprehension that as December approaches, he may become lazy with his work as he starts thinking about the impending Christmas vacation-slash-break. Two-to-one odds that this infection comes from slacker co-teacher, with whom he rides several times a week going to and from school. So he's getting barraged with the warped principles of life that this guy holds, more than he has been listening to during their classes. Session 2463 fantasizes that Hollywood movie scenario where one threat is manipulated to get rid of another, and both disappear. Class dismissed.
