2009-01-28 7:27 AM Murphy's Law Affecting Even Posting This Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. On top of everything else that has happened today, the start of a post that I have already made will now have to be postponed for some other time because the computer where I saved it is locked for use by another of my co-teachers, a selfish action that I myself have been guilty of in the past, for whatever rationalization. Why do I not place my files on the network to be accessible to all the computers whenever i log on to my account? First because doing so means that it increases the time that the computer will load or save one's personal settings when logging on or off. Second is that some of the computers here have the habit of closing the browser automatically. If that happens, if I type a post on a browser window, it will also be lost and have to be retyped. So I'd rather just write it in a word document, which remains open even when the browser is closed. Besides, the auto save draft feature of that software is my friend. My options, if I had decided not to write a new post from scratch, would have been either to wait for my co-teacher to return, or to look for him to log out of the computer. @@ There are two meetings for this afternoon that I will not be able to attend: first is the Feb. 6 concert meeting for the original high school “boy band” that used to have Gary V. and Randy S. as members. Then there's the meeting for the merged band fest and double concert of two local bands, a consolidated activity of the college and high school. I also had to go to the bank and change to cash the checks that the organizers of the engineering week are supposed to get for their expenses. This is because they couldn't wait for the accounting office in campus to get enough funds for the day to change the checks themselves, which they also do for convenience sometimes. I guess there is no such convenience today, just a sense of blanketing urgency for all things. The seminar supposedly set for this afternoon has been changed for the robotic catapult making contest. In other words, two activities in the poster have been switched around because of lack of confirmation. The outside company that was supposed to present this afternoon will not push through. Session 2533 sees a lack of delegation on the part of the head student organizer, and a shallow sense of panicking from whatever trouble that advisers are called immediately . Class dismissed.
