Mood: Irritation Slowly Mounting Read/Post Comments (0) |
2009-02-12 2:09 PM A Student Who Won't Survive Two Minute on A Desert Island Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. A certain student is still irritating me to no end even though he's not my student for this term. He's in a special class that has only two students, and they have an exam right now in the faculty room. The problem is that he still has the notion that during a test, he can ask the teacher about parts he's not sure of, and he believes it will not be counted against him. Of course I can't tell him not to do that and undermine the authority of his teacher, so I will have to remind my colleague about it afterwards, that it is bad practice for work. @@ On another front, he was told by some of the campaigning candidates that he should vote for them during the upcoming student elections, and he flatly refused. That is, until m co-teacher said that there will be plusses given to those who participate. Does everything really have to be a bribe to the grade for him to encourage doing? @@ I had the "make your own constellation" activity in my astronomy class today. I told them technically that I won't be discussing any more constellations, so it's their turn. What's funny, and something I will be expanding on in the student accessible version, is that even with this task (as well as the making ellipses in the lab yesterday) I was still hearing students claiming that it's difficult. I mean, the activity is considered literally very elementary that my team-co-teacher and I were even discussing beforehand if we should have two experiments for that day. @@ At least now I know that this former–student-now-co-teacher of mine isn't swayed by the slacker co-teacher's excuses even though he's usually the captive audience of his tirades on life in the car going to and from school. He knows that SCT hasn't attended any of the engineering week culmination activities, and it's because of laziness masquerading as "family first". Session 2557 hopes that this realization trickles up to management. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
