2009-02-19 4:04 PM Intruders into Work Time and Work Space Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. For the umpteenth time, my computer systems organization class had to give way to a joint student affairs, mission office, and guidance office and discipline office meeting. We were discussing the plans for next school year that now will have to be presented to the school directors and to the registrar's office. The brother president also gave the go signal for us to have another event in March, to sustain the students' interest from what we had presented yesterday about love and sex. I was asked about whether I needed additional funds for it, and I bravely said that so far, we can manage. I didn't expect the applause from the other offices about that, or the continued calls of "Sugar daddy". @@ The parents of college students' association had already presented their formal letter asking for an office and a lounge on the fourth floor, eating into the space for the student center. Now how out of tune are these parents? As the reaction of the student council president pointed out, and which I echoed, if the parents hang around the student lounge, then the students won't. It's worse because they're asking for tinted windows, all the better to see and not be seen by the students. Since what is happening right now is that the parents who do hang around in school usually stay at the basement level of the cafeteria, I agreed with the suggestion of the director for administrative services that if they have a lounge, it should be placed in the basement, more easily accessible for their needs. Besides that, there is also the question of whether this president is still eligible since his son is currently not enrolled and had been passing around a leave of absence form for the various administrators and offices to sign. Only one evaluation left, that of the vice dean, before the brother president gives the joint decision of the school to the parents on Saturday. I'm glad I won't be there. Session 2569 doesn't think more parents would hang out there just because they build it; this isn't Field of Dreams and none of them is Kevin Costner. Class dismissed.
