2009-02-20 11:11 AM "They Think I'm There But I'm Not" Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. There will be a Christ's Couples' Youth camp (if that isn't too much of a giveaway)in the school this weekend. I think this is the second camp of theirs in a row, because there was also one last week. What I don't like about this, besides the pretentiousness of some of their speakers, is that they automatically assume that just because what they're doing is "for the Lord" that they don't have to go through the regular channels to reserve the facilities they want. And that they assume this because the previous officers in the previous years were very diligent in filling out the needed forms ways ahead of time, while just a slight delay in the procedure this year and they blame it on the school, not on the person who is supposed to be responsible for passing the forms who is different from previous years. @@ The trial continues, by the way, in the automatically closing browser challenge. Thank goodness for the fox of fire and being allowed to "restore the previous session." @@ And the difficulty of this seeming "last minute" camp continues. For example, for the first time in my knowledge of the history of waiver forms here in school, the coordinator of the office of student affairs now has to sign the waiver forms. Would not have been so difficult if they just had me sign the original before photocopying. Now they want me to sign each and every one already filled out by their members to show approval. What's worse is that because the camp is already today, they feel they can bypass the procedure of leaving the forms with the secretary of student affairs and go straight to me wherever I am, including in the middle of my class or having lunch. Next, the college secretary just called. It seems one of the parents rang up and asked if there was really a camp. Now, if the student's word is that suspect for this parent, maybe that means this student's movements should be watched during the proceeding in case he or she does skip out and do something that the parent suspects, then blame the school. If at the same time this student produces a waiver form, it should also be suspect if the parent has no knowledge of it. Or even worse, what if the student isn't even part of the camp, but is just using it as an excuse to go somewhere illicit. Session 2571 damns these students and their unfathomable but illogical belief that they can get away with things that they want or avoid responsibility without having to face the possible (and sometimes inevitable) consequences. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
