It's Not All Easy for the Worker, Otherwise It Would Be A Vacation

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

To continue yesterday's anecdote: so the supervisor finally gets the last straw.

One time the employee reprimands the supervisor for what is believed to be a similar case as when the supervisor at an earlier time spoke down to the employee.

Of course the supervisor doesn't see it that way, and from that moment on vows that there will be no more camaraderie between them, just words about work.

So a few days later, supervisor tells employee about some personal things that have been left out in the area that the clients frequent. Bad idea: employee replies, "That's where it has always been since the start"; not the right answer.

Employee doesn't get support from the other employees, who up to that point have also been noting employee's comparative lack of initiative to work.

At the same time, employee has been telling coworkers about the situation at home with an ex-girlfriend. So after the blow-up, when employee packs up his things to go home in the middle of the work day, this is the actual reason the coworkers suspect, and not the argument, seemingly trivial.

Employee doesn't even tell boss, and in fact was walking slowly to the transport terminal, thinking that his coworkers will stop him, which they wisely don't.

A few days later, employee asks boss if he can return. Boss says ask the district head about being accepted in other branches, a subtle hint about proving his worth first in another setting prior to being taken back (not guaranteed anyway).

Even after having talked to district head, employee (not former employee) still asks boss if he can return, and doesn't get a reply. He also doesn't get a reply from former coworkers, who don't know what to tell him anymore.

So his last text to them is that maybe they are angry at him that's why they don't reply.

Well, if you're that impatient and insensitive anyway, boss doesn't want to face you anymore and give you false hope that after telling you all your faults that you will be reinstated. After all, you apologize by text without defending your own actions why you left, it's not that easy.

Session 2599 is also wondering about the shift in pronoun in the last paragraph. Class dismissed.
