2009-04-27 11:13 PM Part of Me Is Just Glad That It's Done Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. It's funny how some people have a weird business ethic. Let's say that someone owes the company a hundred pesos, but the employee owes the company a thousand pesos. This money is supposed to be paid back by salary deduction. But instead of just telling the payroll people to deduct nine hundred pesos from him in the course of several paydays if possible, he will instead ask to collect the hundred pesos first that the company owes him then AFTERWARDS agrees to the salary deduction. @@ Some thoughts on the graduation that I couldn't put in the student accessible version: Of course some parents complained that there weren't enough seats in the hotel's Function room for their entire clan to sit in; this is despite the letter written by the registrar's office that there are only two seats per graduate allotted. I was disappointed in both speakers, first because he just read from a book and didn't say any personal anecdotes from all his successful years in his career. Second, because the batch representative (not the valedictory as I think I've clarified before; just tell me otherwise if I haven't in any of the previous posts) made it into a personal dedication and thanked people that the rest of the batch wouldn't appreciate, including her boyfriend, who wasn't graduating. There was no more "Ode to the Graduates" that had the lighting of the main building, so that was the part that some parents said wasn't boring; it was relatively short. But if this trend continues, there will be more graduations next school year, maybe twice as many. Onto this seminar, I'm surprised about a lot of concerns here from other sectors of the school that I didn't know before. I guess that's what administration is privy too. Will I step down if I prove to be incompetent for this position? I hope so, and that is, before things deteriorate to a point where the one to replace me has a real job ahead of him. But right now, from all the things that I complained about (the issues and concerns that I admitted were for me a cry for help) it seems recognition of the problems is the first step. Session 2649 knows enough to be wary of those who say they are doing a good job, just like those who aren't apprehensive about adopting a child. Class dismissed.
