Mood: Highly Suspicious Read/Post Comments (0) |

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. There was a seminar during the freshman orientation that was not advised to the office of student affairs until two days before the event, even though it passed the approval of the president. What's weird about it (besides having only being informed that late, even though the date of the emails forwarded to the office of student affairs was from a month before it was set) was that this volunteer group chose one college incoming sophomore, one college incoming fourth year student, one Integrated school student (may be third year or fourth year) and the coordinator of the office of student affairs of the Integrated School. But somehow, despite this, they were asking for funding from the office of student affairs. I have a suspicion as to who could be behind choosing the participants, and it's not an objective decision. After all, why choose someone who is already hip deep in their major subjects and thus would not have as much time to delve in student affairs? Unless they are really close. Then there's the question of the second year student participant, who is not even the president of organization being represented. There seems to be a hidden agenda in that choice. @@ In other news, my cousin is applying for a part-time teaching position in the school! He didn't pass his board exam last April, but that didn't stop him from handing in his letter of intent. And with the situation we have right now of slacker co-teacher resigning and another part-time teacher instead becoming a full-time teacher at our rival institution, we are desperate. He will have his teaching demo on Monday, and it may just be a formality where he will be asked to attend the first class on the very same day. If not, it will certainly be within the week. I wonder if I could be sitting in at that panel, or even his batch mate who is already teaching. Will they choose teachers who will be a little more objective in their evaluation of the demo? Bottom line: I don't think they can afford not to hire someone that late in the game. Session 2663 thinks this school year is starting to shape up to be very interesting. Class dismissed.
