Mood: "Just Stop Talking Already" Read/Post Comments (0) |
2009-06-26 2:59 PM "Let Me Finish Talking Before You Agree" Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Now I've put my finger on what bugs me about our new coordinator for the welfare of the students. It's that he has all this momentum for what he has to say, and that even though I've already tried to cut him off to tell him that what he's requesting is agreeable, he still continues to explain why he thinks it's such a good thing, like he's talking to a six-year old child. Is this one of those people who plays out what they are going to say to others hours in advance? So that when they do get to that situation, they don't know how to stop anymore deviating from their script. What also irritates for me is that when he talks, he pronounces "v" as "b" and "f" as "p". @@ Earlier today I came out with the coordinated (as is my job) list of the events of the foundation week that the college students will be participating in. But it was too late. Just a few minutes after, that's when the student council representative arrived with a letter of request for their concert on the last day of the week-long celebration. The problem was that their event was scheduled from 6pm to 11pm. We're talking about making the facilities personnel stay around solely for their benefit, after already having a full day of work since 6am, when the fun run is scheduled to start. This, I see, is part of their lack of coordination. They go ahead with their plans for having speed-dating at the acquaintance night, and a mock-fashion show. All of which I just found out about on the night itself. Good thing no one complained (so far) or the crap would have trickled (or should I say splattered) down to them after hitting me. Sure they are following the one-month time table of event preparation that I set after that fiasco of forms still being given to me to sign in the middle of the week of the event, but that's just the first step in their "training" to have more preparation. Now it's about finding out whether their plans are going to be in sync with those of the others, since, after all, foundation week isn't just about them, but is a celebration of the whole institute. But I'm still of the suspicion that this event has some strings being pulled just like with the proposed car show. They are going to have ten percent of the ticket sales go to the scholarship fund, but exactly what part of the ninety percent is going to go back to the production outfit they mentioned in their letter who is arranging for the bands to go here and play? Session 2705 is wondering why no names of the bands were mentioned. Are they unknown? Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
