2009-07-17 12:58 PM We're A Nun-Government Office? Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. So, I was talking about the shirt printer who lodged a complaint against the student council. Another reason she was pissed at them was because they changed the quantities after they had signed a contract. At first she dismissed this as being part of any young person's neglect, but it just built up with everything else that she was frustrated about, which included the fact that it wasn't the only order she was finishing for the school. She even had to give the students a lesson on the fact that the people she worked with had only this shirt sewing and printing as their bread and butter, and if they don't get paid on time for the work they did, then they don't get to eat for that day, something the students should have appreciated. So what's the bottom line, the printer won't give the shirts until she receives full payment. I'm getting that from the student council's budget for the entire year, so they don't have any more money with my office. Now they get a first hand experience of fundraising literally. If they don't sell enough shirts, then they don't have any money to spend on any of their next activities. @@ And speaking for first hand experience, since the Office of Student Affairs secretary is on a fetch from the airport mission (as detailed in the student accessible version) I had to perform logistics myself on the talk of the former president of the entire system, who will be here on Tuesday for a talk on the brothers' response to the current national situation. That means reservation and contacting of his assistant. Good thing I can talk to all the heads themselves about what I need done, because it was just mentioned in our meeting earlier today, so they know I'm not fooling. And I've been told that I can just ask the secretary to do the paperwork when she arrives. Isn't that peachy? @@ And what was our meeting earlier about? It's because of this government agency that grants NGO status to institutions. They gave us a temporary three year status that now has to be renewed. After foundation week, their committee members will be interviewing different members of the community asking questions about our mission-vision and whether our programs, particularly in the outreach area, are in line with this, and if it is enough to give us the status. Financially, that means tax exemption and for those who will donate to the school as well. @@ As for the student council supposedly submitting a letter to propose their variety show, it hasn't materialized. Will the committee heads look kindly if it's late? Session 2733 just lets the week finish up. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
