Are the Good Men Doing Nothing?

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

As promised yesterday, here are the proposed guidelines I put forth for the college majors celebrations.

Possible Objectives of the School Week Activities:

1. Demonstrate the institution's Expected/Ideal Graduate Attributes

2. Highlight the talents and achievements of the students related to their various major subjects

3. Provide the enrollees of the school with information vital to their future careers by inviting outside speakers and/or companies maybe even alumni to hold seminars/talks/exhibits within the campus

4. Serve as recruitment opportunities for marketing to our own integrated school and feeder high schools as well

5. Give the college students of the other schools a glimpse of the life and experience of a student of that school.

The dean asked about how many should be the minimum required activities for each objective.

I replied that there should be at least one activity for the week for each objective, with the must that fifty percent plus one of their activities should be related to these purposes.

So if they want to hold a party or a contest that seems frivolous, then they should have one event that is relevant, plus one more. There will also be guidelines about non-execution of events just because it was forced on to them and not what they really want.

@@ The latest missive from the overstaying, undeserving and unqualified so-called president of the organization of parents of college students replied to the latest request letter of the recognized student organizations for funding of one of their events.

The first three paragraphs were about technicalities like what the acronym of their office really was.

Then there were mentions of his having a board meeting, which the parent of the vice president says is never scheduled.

Now he wants another meeting so that the students can tell him of their plans. Which we believe will most likely be a tirade about how the students are not doing things the way he wants things to be done.

There was already such a meeting last year; I do not want to repeat the experience.

Besides, he has already gotten the ire up of all the administrators in this school, I am prepped for him to try and get me to do what he wants. I will just question everything he says.

Session 2839 wants him to step down please. Class dismissed.
