Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. It was only yesterday during the latest session of the expanded operations council meeting outside the campus that I realized that none of us on the council are actually Ph.D. holders, which makes it somewhat ironic that here were are listing a preference of a Ph.D. graduate for our candidates for the next head operations officer for the next school year, when the short list contains names of some XOP members. It is nice to know that the XOP members are supportive of their own, and that they promise to help out in any way they can. @@ Holy crap! I just realized that several friends of mine are coming over for the holidays, at least five of them! That means that I have to find time for all of them to meet at least once during the break, as well as buy gifts for them. And in the midst of all of that, I have to find time for playing the WII (looks like a shortcut for World War II minus one word) and to take care of the business, that is, if we push through with certain plans. @@ And the need to catch up on sleep continues. I was up until 2am last night, plus the stress of almost 100 kilometers of travel two ways in the past 12 hours has nearly completely drained me. And I have one exam tomorrow afternoon. Hope to be able to finish that early then get the rest of the day for some shuteye. @@ I find the title of the last post also somewhat self-fulfilling given the events yesterday afternoon to evening. But I won't say much about that. The food was good, like the mini tacos and the pasta (which I had to admit to Chat I would inevitably compare to the excellent place where I had lunch and bought the Mexican themed bread for the party. It was just a bit sad that unintentionally there were two groups that split up after eating and I wanted to be in one group that was just conversing but was called to substitute in another. Still, having six people cooperating for a console game is pretty awesome, and I hope can be expanded upon in the future. @@ And I am running out of things to post about, since I do not want to talk about the effective change in leadership for the coming school year, and the excitement (and other mixed emotions inside) due to my being in on the ground floor of it. I am glad for one that the push for science and technology will continue, but what about the possible removal of redundant courses. Also, there seems to be more cause to think about moving further south now that I have a highly influential contact there, and at the same time again take care of business and maybe expand. @@ It was a little awkward though when there was a mention of retrenchment in one office (Physical Facilities to be exact) and the brother president waved it off in an obvious move of saying it was not meant for the expanded operations council at least for now. I do know that we will find out soon enough. @@ What is weird about the social networks is that it shows us the roller coaster of emotions that people go through every day. Something may happen that could deserve labeling this the worst year ever, but looking at past entries, it seems there still seems to be a lot to be thankful for. Session 2889 is glad to have reached this far without reaching too far. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
