Mood: Still Resisting A Little Though Read/Post Comments (0) |
2009-12-16 1:36 PM Concessions to Comfort Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. I actually had time to write this post earlier at my first finals, which I started at past 1pm even though it was supposed to start at 230pm. But again sleep was threatening to overtake me, so I instead opted to watch videos that Chat gave me copies of. At least it kept exhaustion at bay for a while, at the expense of the students being able to hear it even at a diminished volume. This is because I forgot my earphones with my other audio gadgets in the faculty room and not with my net book, and the students surprisingly did not have any earphones with them either. And speaking of which, that apparently has become my latest commercial obsession: personal audio jacks. To date I have three working models I am using in alternation, and another two still in their boxes. It used to be mugs, then fast food chain cheap collectible toys, then the more practical bags of all shapes and sizes. I still have those, and I contribute to the quantity of those collections every once in a while, but I did not expect them to be added to. And if I may add, somewhat ironically for a cordless medium, I also now have to invest in cord organizers for my WII. I already had about three of those, but they apparently are not enough, so I have three more purchased. And, because of their overall practicality, I now have four pairs of rechargeable batteries not just for the handheld gaming consoles, but also for the digital cameras (yes, I have more than one; the second serendipitously also using rechargeable batteries, thanks Nolan & Di) and the of course WII remotes. Overall I also have 5 DVD readers, only 4 of which are usable at the moment, and one connected to a portable DVD player. Sadly, the one not usable is the one that is also a writer. Maybe I will ask to get that fixed someday. I have two portable audio music players, one of which is also the DS. The other was another gift I have already mentioned here back. I have almost 29 gigabytes worth of portable saving space, in almost a dozen different parcels of at least three mediums (flash drive, SD card and micro SD card). I have given up on portable hard disks years back. I have one portable TV, black and white, and instead of buying a second one, I might just get an LCD projector. But I do not think that is in the near future, at least before the end of next year. I do not believe that I have succumbed to technology. I have accepted that it is a very convenient part of life, but I do not need to have it all in one machine that can fit in my pocket. Session 2891 appears not to have expected the turn of the post today from the beginning. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
