2010-01-15 2:54 PM Enough About The Day Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Son of a bitch! I know this is the first time that I have uttered something like that here but this day warrants it. First of all, before lunch time, I was informed that a parent was downstairs at the office of the registrar looking for someone to talk to. She had a complaint about bullying. Apparently her son, who grew up in the US and does not know many Filipino words, is the only one of their batch not invited to the debut of another student tomorrow. Now that in itself is not their complaint; they acknowledge the right of the celebrant to invite whoever she wants to. It is the other students who are invited that go up to him and tell him it is because he is a weirdo, and even outside the campus, just standing innocently in front of a coffee shop they go up to him to tell him it sucks to be you. Now that is just mean. It is bad enough that the guy does not understand half of what they are talking about in front of him. But he is kind and (being 24 years old after all) did not want his mother and older sister to go to school and raise a fuss. Mothers being who they are though, she did go here. So I had to promise her that I would talk to the guidance counselor and the head of the mission office (who is in charge of the recollections) and the discipline officer about it, but in the spirit of confidentiality no formal sanctions will be taken. The second is about the planned general assembly of the organization of parents of college students. This is because of the lack of quorum in their last meeting which resulted in a holdover board, and which they blamed on others. So now it was up to the brother president and the dean with the school lawyer to talk to him and tell him that since you did not do your job in the required time, we will be moving for you and do not call it undermining. The problem is that the administrative assistant of the college also has a scholarship quiz contest to send out letters to. So the letters are again being passed to the secretary of student affairs, which, if she had been allowed to do in the first place instead of harboring suspicion, would not have landed the school in this mess. Then, the office of the dean is asking who the mailing is going to be charged to. They do not want it off their funds. I had to almost shout and say yes the office of student affairs will cover it first on the condition that when the funds of the association of parents get taken back by the school it will be reimbursed from there. I had to put my foot down and say I want him out of that position so that we could stop having the problems that we are having right now because of him and his all talk no action attitude. The day definitely needs to at a hundred eighty degree turn. Session 2917 is facing the biggest midday slump ever. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
