Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Apparently the new draft of the student handbook does not have the mission vision statement, the four pillars of strength and the expected graduate attributes. I had to get them from a PDF file of the faculty manual, copy and paste.

But the secretary of the college still has to do some work on it, since the attribute on Interdisciplinary knowledge worker has already been changed to interdisciplinary resource provider.

Still, I think that these texts, as well as the school calendar should be readily available at the website.

I still cannot believe that it took me more than five minutes to search for a copy, and have to copy and paste from a PDF file at that.

@@ I would call this as my most productive day so far in the term, if only for the sheer amount of varied tasks I was able to perform.

There was something done for the discipline board. I still do not know whether to consider it good or bad that a meeting called by students who are involved in a case of in-campus drinking to meet with the board was postponed from their impromptu arrangement yesterday that I read in email.

There were questions about going the legal route, but mostly it seems to be about whether their parents will find out, and just wanting to air their side despite their having been asked to do that in writing already.

Related to this, the officer of welfare of the students said that he knows that since he is also the teacher of one of the students with a case (a different one that the drinking thing), that he knows that student was the only one to give him all ones in evaluation while everyone else had line of sixes and sevens (seven being highest).

Besides the student handbook thing, there was also an inter-campus correspondence about the student attire.

@@ There was also the search of the dance troupe of a new adviser. I do not know why someone part-time is not allowed.

Was it only the case before that a full-time teacher became part time so they allowed her to continue as adviser?

They also have a new request for practices that exceeds the ten hours a week, since they thought that only applied to late night sessions.

Also, for the all-day Friday practice, they have the excuse that not everyone will practice all day on that day.

So I asked them to show the times that all the members participating will be joining the practice, for a total of ten hours only.

@@ One meeting that did push through yesterday was the one with the overstaying president of the association of parents of students of college. He explained to them that all the money turned over to the accounting office cannot just be used for any purpose but actually still has to be approved by him.

I told the students to record the meeting, but it seemed he was subdued this time and not that egotistical.

Session 2921 thinks maybe the threat of being audited has changed or created this heart. Class dismissed.
