2004-02-17 6:11 PM Importance of Copyediting Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Giggly Read/Post Comments (0) My co-workers and I are currently getting the biggest kick out of this SF Chronicle story, which explains that today's second attempt to get an injunction against San Francisco's issuing of same sex marriage licenses has foundered because of the incorrect use of a semi-colon.
It's not every day that you get to see a judge simultaneously strike a blow for equal rights and against the incorrect usage of one of the English language's most misunderstood bits of punctuation. The bad, but not entirely unexpected, news is that it looks like the same sex marriage opponents will get their injunction eventually, provided that they get their grammar in order.
