Awfully stupid sometimes

I can be awfully dense at times. All yesterday, I was faintly sniffly and very headachy. The kind of headache that even two extra strength Tylenol don't completely knock out. As a consequence, I felt crappy all yesterday, and didn't get as much done as I wanted to.

This morning, I woke up and the headache was still there. While I was lying there wondering if I should call in sick to work, I realized that I could make the headache go away partially by applying gentle pressure along the sides of my nose, just under my eyes. "Oh," I said. "That must mean my sinuses are clogged."

I lay there for a little while longer wondering if it was worth the effort of getting out of bed and finding some decongestant. Finally, I hit on a better solution: "Hey, sweetie," I said to Daniel. "Would you bring me some sudafed and some ibuprofen?"

Daniel obliged, and I took the pills and lay down again.

About half an hour later, I bounced out into the other room and gave Daniel a big hug. "I feel human again!" I announced.

And indeed I do. I also feel like my brain is working about 5000 times faster than it has worked in the last 24 hours, so maybe I will remember to keep taking my decongestant. Duh.

(You must understand that due to allergies and having twisty narrow little sinus passages (ear, nose, and throat specialists love me) I spent most of my adolescence and early college years with clogged sinuses. You'd think I'd recognize the sensation instantly, but apparently sinus headaches make me stupid.)

Last night, since I was feeling too stupid to read, I watched another 4 episodes of Revolutionary Girl Utena. That show is getting progressively more surreal. I like it.

I think it's time for my next dose of decongestant. Talk to you later.
