Getting jiggy with it

A co-worker and I were just thinking that we should order this T-shirt for our whole department.

Usually getting back a technical edit is not that big a deal here, but there is one project that said co-worker and I are getting close to crunch time on...I actually did have to stop myself from doing a jig when someone stopped me in the hall yesterday and told me they had comments for me.

Of course, I frequently have to stop myself from doing jigs. Jig-worthy events have been known to include:

  • Looking out the window and noticing that the sky is a particularly nifty shade of blue.

  • Getting a particularly good latte from the cafeteria.

  • Successfully compiling an online Help project. (I've never not successfully compiled an online Help project, but I've done just enough programming in my life to never take compilation for granted.)

  • Crossing all the items off my to-do list. (Jig immediately followed by sitting down and creating a new to-do list.)

  • iPod usage.

And so on.

Heavens, someone just came by and asked for a review copy of one of my manuals. ("I want something to read while I'm working from home tommorow. Can you send it to me right now?") That probably merits a mazurka.

Just as soon as I finish making the PDF.
