Well, one more month here in Flagstaff unless either A) I get a summer teaching position or B) I make the slam team. Will see! Did the Symposium last week. I read at 9 am on Friday which is dropdead early for me. I enjoyed it. I think the 10 or 15 people in the audience liked us too. On Saturday night I got sloshed at a party. Which I am still feeling two days later. I usually only have 1 or 2, but I was on foot and my friend Ian and I were determined to get really wazooed! Ian outlasted me. I went home at 11:30 to go to bed, while Ian and Josh convened for more alcohol abuse over at Josh's. I must say for such a big guy, I am not much of a drinker. Maybe it is the alcoholism genes. On the Other hand, I can eat really spicy foods! I like Extra Hot Salsa, or 5 at a Thai restuarant. I am the king of spice! call me Pepperhead! tonight is the Indiana-Maryland game. Both teams look good. Indiana has less to lose. They weren't expected to be here. Mike Allen has already saved his job and will probably be there as long as Indiana wins for the most part. But it would be cool if Allen was to win in his second year as coach, and be the fourth Afro-Am coach in history to win it. Juan Dixon for Maryland is a true superstar, and Maryland deserves it after what happened last year I don't know who to root for. I like both of them. I am waiting to hear from my Final Three. Washington, FIU, and LBSU. The real reason to go to an MFA is to improve on poetry among other things. I could go for a PHD but I don't think that would be helpful right now. Maybe later. Maybe I will go for an Ed.D. The future is wide open. |
