But to me... it is my damned birthday... and nobody is here kissing my feet, blowing smoke up my ass. Just cuz I am not Bill Gates... doesn't mean I am a complete loser... I mean I make 18, 000 a year... Okay... So I may be a complete loser in comparison... But can Bill Gates write a poem? Okay.... but better than mine? Okay... I'll shut up. I saw Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project last night at Ham Concert Hall at UNLV. I got comped because I know people. Well actually my mom does, and she usually gets to go (she used to work there) but she couldn't go last night, so I got to go. Ma was excellent. I saw him several years ago at Ham Hall, by himself... but last night there was a ensemble of 20 musicians and he performed in 5 out of 8 pieces. The concert lasted 2 1/2 hours not including intermission, but that was because of the changes in set up in between performances. Well... I am 30 now... Where is my oodles of money? I may be a slam poet... but I will sell out quicker than you can say Master Card, It is everywhere you want to be. Name your price... I won't haggle too much. I am beginning to write again... so I am happy... no new slam pieces yet... but eventually. |
