Well... my b-day wasn't all bad.

I bought the Norton Anthology of theory and literary criticism... because I am insane. I got to see Punch Drunk Love with Adam Sandler and on Friday night at Jitter's Poetry, Karen gave me a hat with a bunch of leaves in the pattern.
Mucho Gracias Karen!

Saturday I went to the Vegas Valley Bookfest and caught Mark Turpin, Dorianne Laux and Bruce Isaacson. Then I read with Karen and Dayvid Figler. K and D were featuring and hosting the open mike. Figler is on fire as usual... He is definitely a shoe-in for the 2003 slam team. Maybe even the Indy Semis.

I read some new stuff on Friday... but I am feeling kinda slow creatively speaking right now.

I am not worried about Writer's Block... I go in cycles.... I may have a surge at any moment.

With teaching, I feel kinda so/so... I am passionate, but I feel that I have limitations as far as English 102 goes... It is not creative. College writing is cut and dry... it is about writing in depth, analysis but often without flair.

But I am doing the best I can with it. I wish I got classes later in the day so I could be more prepared and alert.

I am also fighting fatigue and potential flu. I am popping Vitamin C like it was LSD... and I having delusions of sneezing. I think I hallucinated mucous.

Sorry!

Currently I am listening to Peter Gabriel-- Long Walk Home

I was about to purchase Beck/Flaming Lips tickets the other day... but 55 bucks is a bit much... 60 after the handling fees. No thanks. I like both acts... but I'd rather see the concert video... and save the dough. Blues Traveler is playing House of Blues for only 25$ and they play a full 3 hours usually. More Blues for your Beck.

Well... Nothing really interesting to say right now. My life ain't boring but It ain't exactly thrilling either.
