Maybe... We'll find out that Bush is an S and M freak. Laura is his little sex slave. That'd freak out all the right wingers. Larry Flynt, you better be hustlin up some dirt, my man. Well, the slam went well tonight. I got a 24 for death and a 25.2 or so for Mack The Nugget. Karen took first, and Evil Dan, took 3rd. There was only five of us. Bakeem may be taking over the Iowa slam, and that may draw in some of the Roma crowd. I know things aren't kosher here with all the politics... bridge, and otherwise... But I guess we still have somethings pretty good. John Standiford was here, and did a mini feature for us. John was from the San Francisco scene, but was on the Phoenix team last year. I havn't written any new slam pieces since late September. I have a few okay poems but nothing to energize me. I mean, I would like to have a shit load of new shit by March... By the time we get to semis and slam finals. I am not sure how my shit would go over here. In many ways... I need to start over. I will try for the slam team, but I am certain it will not be easy. I think it is getting more competitive, and I am not sure if I am improving. At least up to my standards. Well... I am trying to memorize Death, Froggy, and Recess. I have Mack The Nugget, The Exam, and Testosterone on the burner. Perhaps I should keep Big Hair ready... but I don't think I want to slam with old pieces. At least I have four new pieces to do for semis and finals. Well... that is all self centered anyways. I should really be focusing on having a good time and trying to write great poetry. Well... anyways... My team mates from last year... Flagstaff did a tribute to me Logan, Dom, Suzy and K-Dawg. check out three poems including two group covers of me at http://dana.ucc.nau.edu/~ltp3/index They are very flattering of me. I am lucky to have made some people happy. I need to stop being so selfish. L'ego my ego. Sorry to waffle so much. Hope I don't sound to syrupy in contrition... |
