While recklessly driving on the way to work late, I caught some of the latest few and far in-between press conference with the President.

I guess I needed to be reminded why it's a good thing he doesn't speak to the press often.

If there were any non-slowpitch softball (really T-Ball) questions, I missed them. Instead there were questions like, "You spoke at a graduation where you said someone said America was really great for being in Iraq. Do you agree?"

WTF? Did I misunderstand? If he quoted the guy during a graduation speech, it wasn't because he disagreed with him, I'm guessing. But maybe I just "misunderestimated" the problem.

I'm now used to his garbling of the English language, but I never really realized the total lack of speaking skills in anything but the most scripted formats.

He's "mindful" of things. So "mindful" that every third paragraph was about him being "mindful" of something. Give it a rest. Try changing up words on occasion.

Also, people that laugh at their own humorous asides, just look like idiots. At best. If you combine the lack of speaking skills, laughing at your own jokes and the constant sense of "I don't understand why people don't think like me, it's just so simple" then you get this weird personality that comes off as ignorant arrogance.

For God sakes could someone give the President of the United States some speaking lessons? Not that it could possibly be a useful skill in that particular job position.

But I guess it didn't matter. The "questions" gently served up to him were more moronic than the answers, making me think the entire reporter pool were just plants, and making me wonder why NPR would bother to cover it in the first place.

"If the democrats wont approve private Social Security accounts, what will you do?"

Nothing, I'm going to get them through

"Some people say diplomacy wont work in North Korea, what do you think?"

I think it will.

"In your 'Culture of Life' you think all embryos should be saved. How about leftover embryos from IVF?"

I'll talk about something else instead, because we both know that's a stupid question

Wow, that's some important info being delivered to America.
