A summery of Your Favorite Annoying T...

Hello, I am YFAT or Lo. I have been writing/around on Journal Scape for over a decade now. Time flies! This journal chronicles my random thoughts, high moments and sometimes low, throughout high school, college, and now beyond, into the world of "adulthood", whatever that means.

Sinerely, ~Lo

Happy Solstice (yes, it was yesterday, whatever)

Yesterday we had a family gathering that was really nice. I even came out of my hole. My cousins and nephews are getting to an age where they're starting to be pretty fun. My aunt Lisa has a three year old and a 6 month old. The 3 year old Shannon is pretty rowdy in ways, already speeding off on a bike and trying to learn to skateboard. Molly- the baby- just smiles all the time! She's one of the happiest babies ever!

My nephew, whom is turning 4 in October bombs around with Shannon the whole time, chasing after her on her bike. The family milled around, eating burgers, enjoying the mild day, talking and just chillin' as dogs wove in and out between us.

My brother Nic broke out what I call his Golf Cart On Crack. It's an ATV, red, with a roll cage and just rips. Most everyone got to ride on it. My oldest brother Rob took me. Mom was like "Be safe!" and Rob and I just kind of looked at each other like "right...", the siblings kind of expression. We ended up crashing through the woods and getting dew covered and pollen faced from the leaves and in my case probably swallowing some bugs since I was laughing so much with my mouth open. Mmm protein. It was fun to whip around on that thing.

My sister Jamie did my hair for me, was pretty eager too since she's like a hair dresser and hasn't gotten to play with it since it's been cut. She put a purple chunk in for me and I must say I think it looks damn sweet:

Almost Emo Face
Almost Emo

Purple
Purple

It was just a really nice day. The dogs love it. Bizzy was even weaving and wagging between people, schmoozing up the love like old lab Buff used to do. Bizzy has white hairs poking through her black ones now and is getting the kind of old-dog-walk going. She will be 9 years old in September. I love her. My mom painted her head with purple too but it's already coming off since Bizzy is very fond of throwing herself on the ground and rubbing her face around in an "I'm so happy!" wallow.

Ooh, back to my nephew. Dommy and I ran around the house playing with swords today, my wooden one against his little plastic one. I taught him some blocks and he actually picked them up quick but it was more like 3 year old flailing at me and me just trying not to get hit too much. If we got each other's arms or legs we'd "lose a limb" and have to hop on one foot, use the other arm or fight on our knees. Little kids can be fun.

I feel like summer is finally here. I was looking forward to the solstice and I think it went nicely. A nice holiday indeed.

That's all.
Adios.
Peace.
~Lo

P.S.
I feel a lot better after the last entry I did. It was like a weight was lifted off me and a removal of a blockage I had had or something. I forget how therapeutic good writing is. I feel back to 'me'.
