Looks like today my journal reached the 1000 hit mark! I know Journalscape ups the hit-counter whenever I add a new entry or make changes, but it's still a decent milestone as far as online journals go :)

This weekend was the first in quite awhile where we mostly just stayed home and took it easy. Outside it's getting chilly and it rained on and off all weekend, so it was nice just to stay indoors and do some reading, net surfing or whatever (I finished another scenario of Rollercoaster Tycoon ;) ).

According to the weather forecast, we're getting our first snow later tonight or early on Monday. This should taper off around noon and should be fairly modest (about an inch). The first snow each winter is usually cause for some excitement (for me at least), but the novelty wears out fast. Come March or April I'm screaming for the sun to stay out and melt all that damned snow!

Although I didn't manage to get any writing done, I did make some progress toward my next couple of stories. I'm nearly done with research for one of the stories, which means I'll soon have enough info to start attacking the story proper. I've got to get a move-on on this one too, since it needs to be done before the end of January!

I also wrote some notes for another story, this time changing tack and coming up with a completely different setting and scenario to what I'd worked out the other day. The same basic idea remains, but I think the second approach holds more promise. I honestly couldn't see the original idea going anywhere. Generally when I have these sort of detailed notes, writing the story soon follows...
