Apparently Gardner Dozois is stepping down as editor at Asimov's Science Fiction in order to pursue other projects, including writing. Dozois will remain with Asimov's as a contributing editor, while Sheila Williams will step-in as editor beginning with the January 2005 issue. This is big news for fans of the mag. It'll be interesting to see how it fares next year. Gardner has been editor at Asimov's for the past 19 years, and has won the Best Editor Hugo 14 times! Those are some mighty big shoes to fill. He is less well know for his fiction - a collection of which came out in 2001 in Strange Days: Fabulous Journeys with Gardner Dozois. I wish him the best of luck, and I look forward to seeing him pen some new stories :) Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
