Mood:
Running around like a headless chook

This week has been the busiest in quite awhile. I've been itching to write all week, but haven't had a spare minute! I'm hoping that'll change soon, otherwise I might have to start getting up earlier or trying some other means of gaining more time :)

The treadmill arrived at the beginning of the week, and we've been working out on that along with the weights quite a bit already. It'll be awhile before I can run anywhere near as long or as hard as I used to, but at least now there won't be the excuses about snow outside or the gym being too far away like there used to.

We were up late on Friday night moving furniture and covering it and the floor in preparation for the installation of our new windows on Saturday morning. Two guys took about 4 hours or so to rip 'em all out and put the new ones in. They look much better than the appalling ones we've had to put up with since we moved in. The place was like an arctic wasteland after they were done (it was hovering around 10F outside, I think), but it was worth it. We just hung out in the basement gym room where it was warmer, poking around upstairs every so often to see how things were going. The only worrying thing is we are getting condensation on the bottom insides of the windows. It sounds like that could be an interior humidity problem from what I've read online, or the caulking might still be drying outside due to the exceedingly cold temperatures. If it keeps up much longer the window people will be hearing from us....

After the windows were done, we went shopping for curtains and blinds and found some for the front room and the computer room (these are on order). We stopped off at another store to look at mattresses, and ended up buying a bed and a futon. Our old double bed will be retired to the other finished room in the basement, and then we should just about be all set for when my parents and brother visit in a few months.

We also spent another hour or so looking at curtains for the loungeroom and bedroom, which was quite a chore considering the bewildering array of options and our unusually shaped windows. We did end up getting some, but we're still yet to find something for the kitchen. The remainder of the weekend was spent hanging a few of the blinds and curtains and cleaning up the place. It's not over yet, though--we've still got to put up all the others, and paint the interior frames that were replaced all round. Fun times *sigh*
