Brainsalad The frightening consequences of electroshock therapy I'm a middle aged government attorney living in a rural section of the northeast U.S. I'm unmarried and come from a very large family. When not preoccupied with family and my job, I read enormous amounts, toy with evolutionary theory, and scratch various parts on my body. 2004-05-23 1:57 AM Good deeds - modest proposal - part 2 Good things I should do
1. Punish myself with a whip for having sinned. I have done many sinful things in the past and a proper whipping would make me less likely to do them in the future. The pain that I suffer now will be more than rewarded in heaven. 2. Encourage people to build a vast, expensive temple of devotion to God. The building of a beautiful temple of worship will serve as a symbol of God's greatness and inspire others to worship as well. While some might argue that resources might be better spent elsewhere, like on the education of children or cancer research, showing devotion to God and inspiring people to worship are more important tasks. 3. Encourage people to join the priesthood and convents, giving up earthly pleasures. Love of spouse and children are but shadows of the one true love which all men and women should devote themselves to. The temptation of sexual desire is a flame in which love of God is purified. 4. Tell teachers to teach only the Bible in school. There is but one path to happiness. Why unneccesarily expose our children to any other? 5. Punish those who will not follow the way of God. It should be our task to scourge the wicked, setting an example on Earth of what they will suffer in Hell. In doing so we will encourage those who can be saved to follow the path of righteousness.
