There are three books I remember loving as a child.

Up until today, I only had one of them.
(now I have all three! - Squeee!):

1/ Gold Pieces - Phyllis Bentley
2/ House of Sixty Fathers - Meindert DeJong
3/ Smith - Leon Garfield

Each and every one of them thrilled me, more than I can describe.

As a 10 year old, I read them over and over.

Now I can read them again...and I'm SO excited.
